Another not so easy day, makes it easy to fill your mind and heart with negative thoughts. But no matter what life brings, just remember those 3 letters: ABK, Always Be Kind. It’s not an easy thing to do, but that just means it’s worthwhile.

Everyday there will be struggles and there will be challenges that will make you feel like giving up. Just slow down, take a deep breath and look at the situation from the outside inwards. What will anger or frustration do to the situation? What will kindness do? Kindness will always make the situation better, even if it doesn’t seem that way at the time. Anger and frustration will just make the situation worse and make you feel worse, that is a guarantee. These feelings are just our fear taking over our thoughts and actions. Don’t let fear take you over, don’t let it consume you. Take that fear and make it your power, use it give you strength. Use that strength to be kind and in turn that kindness will make you happy.

“Fear is the path to the dark side…fear leads to anger…anger leads to hate…hate leads to suffering.”

– Yoda

May the force be with you and stay away from the dark side. Every day wake up and make it your mission to be kind and spread kindness. At the end of the day as you fall asleep think about your day, did you accomplish your mission? If not, what could you have done differently. That’s my daily ask to everyone, Always Be Kind. Let the force of kindness run through you and give you strength.

In William Shakespeare’s immortal classic “Julius Caesar” the soothsayer warned him “Beware the ides of March” — wow, we could’ve used those words about 9 months ago. It was around that time that the whole world for lack of a better phrase “went to shit.” After moving its way across the world from China, the virus COVID-19 became a global pandemic and change our daily lives. A big part of that was the hottest buzzword phrase “social distancing.” Which was just a nice way to say “get the hell away from me, and don’t cough in my face.” But it was much more than that, we were actively discouraged from gathering socially, you couldn’t shake hands anymore and soon it was mandated many places that you cover your face with a mask. These are all huge asks for most people and against our base instincts. However if we are to get through this they are all necessary measures that we must follow. This all lead to the question, how will this affect us as a society longterm and how do we prevent it from making us all transform into anti-social hermits.

As the last chapter of 2020 flips the last page, we have to ponder an important question. Is this the beginning of the end of the pandemic, or the beginning of the end of life as we knew it in January 2020?  The year started out as any other mundane year, but we had no idea what 2020 had in store for society, the way we live our life and all the things we took for granted.
